One complete opening and closing is one cycle. A documented cycle rating helps compare the proposed springs under stated assumptions; it does not tell you when the springs on your door will break.
Ask which rating applies to the springs being quoted and how they are matched to your door. Compare alternatives using the same number of complete cycles per day. The result is a theoretical usage comparison, not a remaining-life estimate or warranty.
The spring’s condition, installation and suitability for the door still require professional assessment. Do not use a calculator to decide whether a damaged door can be operated.
